How do you make sure you choose the right toner cartridge?
When your printer informs you that the color is low, it is at the latest time to get a new color cartridge instead. Here's how you can find the right toner cartridge for your printer. You can find out the suitable toner cartridge model from the user manual, old cartridge or Google. Read the instructions in more detail below.
Check the user manual for the appropriate ink cartridge
If the manual has been lost, it is easy to download a new manual from the printer manufacturer's website, which can be useful later. Manufacturers' websites are usually so confusing that the easiest way to find the user manual is by Googling, using your printer's model and the word "user manual" as search words, e.g. "HP Laserjet P1102w user manual" and choosing the most suitable link that resembles HP's own website, which is usually the first or second. The download page for the user manual of the printer mentioned in the example is here and below is a picture of what the search and search result look like in the example case (the correct choice would be the top search result):

See the toner cartridge code on the old cartridge
Another easy way is to take the toner cartridge out of the printer and see what model number is written on the label on the side of it. If it is a starter cartridge, the code may be slightly different from the actual toner cartridge, so this method probably works best for follow-up orders.
Google the model of the printer and add the word "color cartridge" to the search
The third and perhaps the easiest way is to Google e.g. "HP Laserjet P1102 color cartridge" and you will immediately find both the model of the cartridge and the cheapest place to buy it. Nowhere can you get color cartridges as inexpensively and easily as online stores. Online stores specializing in toner cartridges often have the option of searching by printer model or cartridge model. It is usually easiest in online stores to use the search box, where you write the model of the printer (or the model of the cartridge, if you already know it) and click Enter or the magnifying glass or the "search" button.

You will probably see both the device manufacturer's original cartridges and significantly cheaper "accessory cartridges", i.e. cartridges made by a non-device manufacturer.
Remember this when you order color cartridges from the online store
Today, at least, you can trust the quality of the supply cartridges from domestic online stores. When ordering from abroad, the problem is that if there are problems, the return costs will be paid by the customer. Also, many online stores that advertise in Finland and whose name sounds Finnish actually operate from abroad and the customer does not have the consumer protection provided by law (e.g. an online store called halvathinnat.com operates from Hong Kong). When ordering as a business customer, you should also note that the right to deduct VAT remains when you order from a genuine domestic online store. If the products come from outside the EU, in addition to the purchase price, the customer will also often receive a customs invoice and value added tax of 24% from the customs post afterwards.
Specializing in printing supplies, www.variaine.fi is a completely Finnish company and online store with its own large warehouse in Finland. In accordance with the law, the products have a 14-day right of return and, exceeding the requirements of the law, the return is also free. You can get customer service in Finnish, Swedish or English by phone, email or chat. we have clear product descriptions, so you always know what you are buying.
